about

In Ergonomics we look at the relationship between the individual, their work environment, and the equipment used to provide solutions that will reduce pain and discomfort. The benefits to working in an ergonomically supportive work environment are vast, and include: increased job satisfaction & employee retention, improved productivity & optimized performance, reduced costs associated with absenteeism & extended medical benefits, reduced costs associated with worker’s compensation,  short and long term disability.

Are you uncertain as to whether or not you need the advice of an ergonomic consultant?  This preliminary assessment will provide you an opportunity to determine whether or not there are significant injury risk factors present in the work environment, without any further obligation.

When an employee has requested an assessment, it is most likely due to discomfort that they are experiencing. More time is required to accurately assess factors that may be contributing to symptoms of musculoskeletal injury. Erin will systematically move through your workstation, making all available adjustments to increase your comfort and support your body appropriately. Throughout this process, you will receive explanations
as to what is happening, and why. After the assessment, a report will be provided which outlines all the changes that were made, as well as recommendations for equipment or support that could not be implemented during the assessment, to ensure that recommendations can be easily implemented. Erin has researched many product lines, and will direct you towards appropriate choices for office chairs, specialty keyboards or pointing devices, and other items needed.

A follow-up assessment is recommended once changes have been implemented to ensure the appropriate set-up of new equipment, and to address any questions or concerns from the employee.

Typically conducted after any recommended products have arrived, a follow up is designed to ensure that the new product is set up to support the employee appropriately. The best and most expensive products will not reduce or resolve symptoms if it is not set up to meet the individual’s needs.

Sitting all day in a chair that’s the wrong size is like running a marathon in shoes that don’t fit.  Difficult and painful!  Erin showed me all sorts of problem areas that were causing me discomfort, and most importantly, how to fix them.”

Janet, Marketing & Property Management Assistant

My back has been a lot better since you adjusted my workstation! I am very appreciative as I am not in the agony I was before, nor am I requiring massage therapy once a week!
